Jackie went onto work for The London and New York Wig Company and at Granada Television before becoming a freelance make-up artist. She has worked for various companies including the BBC (Last of the Summer Wine) , SKY, Living TV and S4C, whilst her theatre work has included Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserable and Jesus Christ Superstar. Liz began her career as a make-up artist for The Phantom of the Opera during its tour in Manchester. She worked on Jesus Christ Superstar in the West End before going on to tour the country as head of wig and make-up departments for shows such as Phantom, Les Miserables, Saturday Night Fever and Miss Saigon. After ten years on the road, Liz longed to return home and after a conversation with Jackie the seeds for Wigs Up North! were sown. They were both aware that anyone wanting a wig for a stage show or a film would have to use a company based in the south, primarily London. They decided that it was time to those "up north" access to a similar service! In April 2005, Vicky Holmes joined Wigs up North as a third business
partner. She met Liz whilst working as a wig assistant on The Phantom
of the Opera tour before going on to become it's head of make-up.
Amongst the many other shows she has worked on in the UK and abroad
are Oliver, My Fair Lady, Mamma Mia and Jesus Christ Superstar.
